Part 3 – Plan for student success - Implementation
A. How will I configure my classroom for the learning activity?
Classroom Configuration:
1 Computers not needed - printable resource
0 Whole group instruction, using a projector and / or interactive white board
0 Whole group activity, with small groups using mobile laptops simultaneously
0 Small group, using classroom computers or mobile laptops as rotating stations
0 One to one, using classroom computers or mobile laptops as rotating stations
0 One to one, in a computer lab setting
0 One to one, with individual student laptops

Part 4 – Develop the student learning activity
A. Describe the learning activity. What will students be asked to do with the Thinkfinity learning object(s)?
After several introduction activities to the five senses…what they are, what part of the body we use etc.
Students will be asked to become "sense detectives" at the sense stations that I will have set up around the room students will use specific senses to identify objects and materials. Students will be asked to document their clues on their student sheets.
B. Describe how the learning activity will address students’ individual needs – Differentiation
Dependent on students current writing levels they will be able to use pictures or words to complete their sheets. All students will work in mixed ability groups so that all aspects of the activity will be able to be completed.
C. Effectiveness – What indicators can you expect to see / hear from students, which will inform you about the effectiveness of the learning activity?
In a kindergarten setting I would expect to see and hear a lot of excitement and possible cheering as they guess the objects and materials correctly. I will be listening for and asking specific questions to assess whether students are using the correct senses and to identify items correctly. I will be able to measure effectiveness by student responses and discussions.
Part 5 – Do a complete trial run of the learning activity you described in step 3D.
Reflect on the learning activity.
Considerations:
I may have to create a sheet for some students with possible answers in the form of pictures to help guide their thinking. Certain students may lack the skills necessary to identify objects using only their senses and prior knowledge.
Part 6 – Consider the bigger picture
Describe how this learning activity fits within a lesson or unit plan, to meet objectives that will be assessed.
NOTE: Information about additional learning activities or materials that will be used to complement this learning activity may be included.
This lesson fits into our unit about the 5 senses. Our objectives within the unit are to be able to differentiate between the fives senses and understand what part of the body utilizes those senses. This activity provides students with an opportunity to explore the five senses and deepen their understanding of these objectives
